| As a member of the international Stop It Now! network, Project Pathfinder’s Stop It Now! Minnesota program uses a public health approach to teach adults how to recognize the signs of child sexual abuse and how to intervene before a child is harmed.
Project Pathfinder and the Stop It Now! network believe that adults – not children – are responsible for preventing child sexual abuse. Most children never report being abused, making it critical that adult bystanders know the signs of sexual abuse and how to step in to protect a child.
The program provides sexual abuse prevention workshops and educational materials for parents, teachers, daycare providers, and staff from youth-serving organizations. Topics include:
The program also provides risk-management and child-safety training for youth-serving organizations, and supports a confidential national Helpline and Online Help Center for information about how to protect children from sexual abuse or receive help for concerns about someone's sexual behavior toward children.
The Stop It Now! Helpline (1.888.PREVENT)
The Helpline phone service has been limited due to financial constraints. Please call for available hours. The new Online Help Center provides much of the guidance and resources learned over the years about keeping children safe from sexual abuse.
Research and our own experience shows that child sexual abuse is not inevitable – it's preventable. We are ready to help with information, workshops, consultation and referrals.
