Adult ServicesFor adults, we provide:
Structured Outpatient TreatmentProject Pathfinder operates a structured outpatient treatment program for adults with harmful or inappropriate sexual behaviors. Treatment includes a 4-week orientation group, weekly group therapy sessions, individual and/or family therapy twice a month, and an aftercare program.
Treatment consists of completing 19 goals, each representing a specific issue, dynamic factor, or task to be accomplished by the client. The program is proprietary to Project Pathfinder and is based on extensive research into effective treatment based on a multiple strategy approach, utilizing cognitive-behavioral, family systems and psychodynamic theory and techniques.
Research into our structured adult treatment program found that 97% of our clients did not have a sex-related re-offense during the five years following treatment completion. Participants reported improved social and relational skills, improved self-esteem, job stability, and an ability to name re-offense warning signs and strategies to manage risk situations.
Assessment and EvaluationAssessment and evaluation services are available to assess psychological, social, sexual, behavioral and relational functioning. At the conclusion of the assessment, a written recommendation is made regarding the most appropriate treatment approach. If outpatient treatment is recommended, placement can be made in a Project Patfinder treatment group.
Individual and Family TherapyOur therapists are trained to provide a wide-variety of emotional and relational health counseling services, including therapy for depression as well as family and relationship issues.
Specialized ServicesWe also offer treatment and support services for spouses, couples, and family members. Additional services include Visitation Supervision Training
Sponsor & Family Education and SupportProject Pathfinder offers education and training for sponsors and family members. The training includes information about treatment goals, approaches, and expectations, so sponsors and family members can support the client in his therapy. Participants learn how to identify pre-offense behaviors in the client and how to provide caring, non-shaming confrontation. There is also a family support group available.
