Preventing Child Sexual AbuseProject Pathfinder offers range of child sexual abuse prevention and risk management services for youth-serving organizations, including schools, religious organizations, nonprofits, libraries, and park and recreation departments. If your organization seeks to prevent child sexual abuse, we can help. Our Stop it Now! Minnesota program offers educational workshops and information on how to recognize and prevent child sexual abuse. Training modules/information include:
Stop It Now! Minnesota staff are also available to help organizations develop policies and procedures to identify and prevent child sexual abuse. We will review your current risk management procedures and make recommendations that go well beyond basic background checks. (Since most child sexual abuse is never reported, is it crucial that youth-serving organizations understand that background checks are not enough.)
The national Stop It Now! network also operates a Helpline and Online Help Center. The Stop It Now! Helpline (1.888.PREVENT)The Helpline phone service has been limited due to financial constraints. Please call for available hours. The new Online Help Center provides much of the guidance and resources learned over the years about keeping children safe from sexual abuse.
Consultation, Education, and TrainingProject Pathfinder staff are available to work with schools and youth-serving agencies that have identified children and adolescents who may have sexual behavior problems. Our staff are available to provide intervention (for at-risk students), teacher training, and on-site psychosexual evaluations.
Help for a Colleague or Another AdultIf you seek help for a workplace colleague, family member, or any adult with sexual behavior issues, Project Pathfinder can help. Our Adult Services area provides sexual-behavior assessment and evaluation services, as well as structured outpatient sexual-behavior treatment that includes both individual and group therapy. The program also includes groups for couples and family therapy.
