Assessment, Evaluation and Treatment ServicesProject Pathfinder provides affordable and effective treatment services in cooperation with allied professionals who are involved with a client’s treatment plan. Our staff have specialized credentials in psychology, clinical social work, marriage/family therapy, and group therapy.
Assessment & EvaluationProject Pathfinder offers assessment and evaluation services to assess psychological, social, sexual, behavioral and relational functioning.
A detailed report with recommendations that address the need for treatment, concerns, risk issues, treatment amenability and venue, and/or the need for ancillary services is provided at the conclusion of the assessment or evaluation.
Treatment for AdultsWe operate a structured outpatient treatment program for adults who have exhibited harmful sexual behaviors. The program includes a 4-week orientation group, weekly group therapy sessions, individual and/or family therapy, and an aftercare program.
Treatment consists of completing 19 goals, each representing a specific issue, dynamic factor, or task to be accomplished by the client. The program is proprietary to Project Pathfinder and is based on extensive research into effective treatment based on a multiple strategy approach, utilizing cognitive-behavioral, family systems and psychodynamic theory and techniques.
Research into our structured adult treatment program found that 97% of our clients did not have a sex-related re-offense for the five years following treatment completion. Participants reported improved social and relational skills, improved self-esteem, job stability, and an ability to name re-offense warning signs and strategies to manage risk situations. http://www.sexual-offender-treatment.org/52.html
We also offer Visitation Supervision Training.
Individual and Family TherapyIn addition to treatment and therapy for sexual behavior issues, Project Pathfinder staff are trained in a wide variety of other mental health issues. Counseling is available for depression, anxiety/stress, and family/marriage/couples issues.
Primary Prevention ServicesProject Pathfinder’s Stop it Now! Minnesota program offers educational workshops and information on how to recognize and prevent child sexual abuse before it happens. Staff are also available to help organizations develop risk-management policies and procedures that keep children safe.

“Twenty years ago I was a respected member of my community, publisher of our local paper, and a sexual abuser. Being arrested was the best thing that could have happened to me at the time. I was lucky to get treatment… and it worked. I have now been back in society for nearly 10 years and have not abused again. I have been given a second chance and I will not throw that away.” |
